It stands for a piece of shit. Furthermore, it stands for my new Corvette Stringray. Oops, my bad; it is no longer a new car once I drove out of dealer's parking lot.
It barely reached 1000 mile which is not the official break in miles by my owner's manual. (GM says 1500 miles) and I got "Remote key not detected" error when I pushed the Start button two weeks ago. (btw, thanks for GM, it has the keyless feature to start the car on a over- 50K car as standard equipment)
The error message does show me in picture to pull the actual key out of keyfob and move it close enough to the key slot to start the car. Good job, GM it did work. I was just happy about one and the shit came back so frequently that really annoyed me.
I took the car back to the dealership and the service adviser said "No problem, we will give you a new keyfob but you need to keep the car here so they can reprogram the key" Does it sound too good to be true? Damn right, I called back two days later to check the status and she said they are still try to reprogram the key and the car will be ready today. I figure one more day is no BFD.
So I called today to check the status and the service adviser said the actual problem is not the keyfob; it is the receiver which receives the signal from the keyfob and they need to order the part from Michigan that needs 3 or 4 days to receive the parts.
I am really pissed off now cos I paid around $30 a day for the car payment and insurance and I didn't even get a loaner car after 5 days.
I guess GM's quality is just like the software I have developed for my customers. It can make you look good or feel good but not both.
